Flow Reports Overview — understand what's driving your team's performance

The Reports section provides deeper insights into your team's delivery patterns over time. Four report types are available:

  • Trends — Visualizes how your four key flow metrics (Cycle Time, Throughput, WIP, Flow Efficiency) change across sprints. Use this to spot patterns and correlations.

  • Predictability — Shows how consistent your delivery process is over time. Helps answer "Can we reliably forecast?"

  • Cumulative Flow — Displays work items by status over time. Useful for identifying bottlenecks and WIP buildup.

  • Sprint Health — Summarizes each sprint's performance. Compare sprints side-by-side to track improvement.

Tip: Click "Ask Noesis" to get AI-powered insights about what's driving your trends.

Trends Report — spot patterns across sprints

Trends Report — spot patterns across sprints

Trends — How is your team trending?

Visualizes your four key flow metrics across sprints to help you spot patterns and correlations.

  • Cycle Time (orange) — Average time from start to completion

  • Throughput (purple) — Number of items completed per sprint

  • WIP (red) — Average work in progress

  • Flow Efficiency (cyan) — Percentage of active work time vs waiting

How to read the chart:

  • Left axis shows Throughput, Cycle Time, and WIP values

  • Right axis shows Flow Efficiency percentage

  • Hover over any point to see exact values for that sprint

What to look for:

  • Stable, flat lines indicate a predictable process

  • Throughput dropping while WIP rises may signal too much work started but not finished

  • Cycle Time increasing alongside WIP often indicates bottlenecks

Predictability Report — Which work types are predictable?

Predictability Report — Which work types are predictable?

Shows how consistent your cycle times are across different work types or story point sizes, helping you identify what's predictable and what's causing variation.

Summary metrics:

  • Predictability (CV) — Overall consistency score. Lower is better, green indicates highly predictable.

  • Median — Typical cycle time for completed work

  • Distribution Spread — Shows 85th and 95th percentile times, and the full range

Driven by:

Breaks down predictability by work type (Story, Bug, Task). Each row shows:

  • Number of items

  • Contribution to total variation

  • Individual CV score with color indicator

Tips:

  1. Click any "Driven by" row to filter the chart and see only that work type

  2. Toggle between "Work Type" and "Story Points" to analyze predictability by size

  3. Click "Ask Noesis" for AI-powered insights on what's driving your variation

Cumulative Flow Diagram — Where are your bottlenecks?

Cumulative Flow Diagram — Where are your bottlenecks?

Visualize where work gets stuck and identify bottlenecks that impact your team's flow.

How to read the chart:

  • Y-axis shows number of work items

  • X-axis shows time

  • Each colored band represents a workflow status

  • Band thickness shows how many items are in that status

What to look for:

  • Parallel bands = healthy, consistent flow

  • Widening bands = work piling up in that status (potential bottleneck)

  • Narrowing bands = work clearing faster than it arrives (good)

  • Sudden bulges = unexpected WIP increase — investigate what caused it

Sprint Health Report — How healthy was your sprint?

Sprint Health Report — How healthy was your sprint?

Analyzes each sprint for delivery issues, helping you identify what went wrong and why.

Sprint summary:

  • Sprint date range and duration

  • Number of work items in the sprint

  • Count of affected items and problem areas detected

Planning Issues:

  • Not Started — Items committed to but never started during the sprint

  • Scope Added — Items added after the sprint started (scope creep)

Execution Issues:

  • Long Cycle Time — Items that exceeded expected duration for their type

  • WIP Overload — Days when work in progress exceeded recommended limits

How to use this report:

  • Select different sprints to compare health across time

  • Click "View issues" or "View items" to see the specific work items affected

  • Look for recurring patterns — are the same issues appearing sprint after sprint?

Tip: Click "Ask Noesis" for AI-powered analysis of what's impacting your sprint health and recommendations for improvement.
